About the event

We're heading to Neyland for the FINAL ROUND of the UK Waterski Racing Championships on the 14th of September!

This year, all our teams will be going head-to-head to battle for the championship podium positions! Come and watch for free, enjoy a great family fun day out, and make sure to save the date!

Pontoon Use:

Please ensure you bring your fenders to the event to facilitate safe launching and mooring on the pontoon during race days. For safety reasons, children are not permitted on the pontoon unless they are supervised by a responsible adult and are wearing an approved life jacket.

Signing In and Safety Briefing:

All pre-race administration will be conducted at Neyland Yacht Club by the UKWR Team. Signing in will occur at the timing office, located at the top of the slipway. On Saturday morning, volunteers will provide breakfast rolls, tea, and coffee at the Yacht Club. The official prize presentation will take place outside the Yacht Club, weather permitting. In case of adverse weather, the presentation will be relocated indoors to the Yacht Club.

Directions:

Getting to the event is straightforward and suitable for large RVs and towing vehicles. Use the following address for navigation:

Neyland Yacht Club, The Promenade, Neyland, Pembrokeshire, SA73 1PX

To reach the event:

  • Drive down the M4 towards Cardiff.
  • After passing Swansea, follow the A48 to Carmarthen, then the A40 to Pembrokeshire.
  • Cross the Cleddau Bridge and then a smaller bridge over the Marina.
  • At the roundabout, take the first exit into Neyland and follow the road towards the Marina.
  • The Camper Park is located at Brunel Quay Car Park. Boats should be brought to the camper park; they will be moved to the yacht club by the launch crew. For fuel needs, it is advisable to stop at Velero Garage (Ascona Crossways, SA73 1QZ), which offers competitively priced Super Unleaded. Note that Tesco in Pembroke Dock does not sell Super Unleaded.

Saturday Social:

Join us for an end-of-season social at Neyland Yacht Club after the prize-giving on Saturday afternoon. The event will feature a buffet catered by The Alumchine. Tickets can be purchased at the bar on the night, but we encourage pre-selection through our website to assist with catering arrangements. More details will follow.

Important Safety Information:

Refuelling: Refuelling must be conducted in the designated boat pits only. No refuelling is allowed on the water. Only use syphon tubes or jerry cans with manufacturer-fitted pouring spouts. This policy is enforced by the Port Authority to prevent pollution.

Boat Pits: Keep the pits tidy and dispose of all rubbish in the provided bins. All personal belongings must be removed at the end of the event. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the pits area. Ensure children and dogs are supervised at all times, as vehicle movements occur in the area. Bring wheel chocks for your boats, as they will be stored at the top of the slipway.

Trailer Safety: Riding on empty trailers or in boats on trailers during manoeuvring is strictly prohibited, whether on your own vehicle, a third party’s, or official launching vehicles.

Pontoon Safety: Children must be supervised and wear a regulated life jacket at all times on the pontoon. Bring fenders for safe mooring. Keep equipment tidy on gangways to avoid trip hazards. No fuel storage is allowed on the pontoon, which is restricted to competitors only.

We look forward to seeing you at the event and ensuring a memorable and safe experience for all!
